The NASA Mission Reports

Since Alan Shepard’s first flight in 1961 the United States has pioneered the human race with a string of historical manned space missions. Now with the construction of the International Space Station underway a new era of cooperation has begun. On December 21st 1998 Apogee Books (an imprint of CG Publishing Inc) began an ambitious series celebrating the landmarks in human space exploration beginning with the Apollo Program. Each book draws directly from the National Aeronautics & Space Administration's own files and for the first time puts into the commercial market place the NASA Mission Reports.

Supplementing the Reports will be additional information, such as the rare Press Kits (when available) and representative samplings of photography from the missions in color. Until now this information has only been available to collectors of space memorabilia and historians. Now the rare internal documentation of these amazing accomplishments will be available to the general public in a neat and compact format. To launch the series, Apogee presented the first book APOLLO 8 THE NASA MISSION REPORTS. This book was available in time for the 30th anniversary celebrations of the historic first flight to lunar orbit held at the Chicago Museum Of Science & Industry.

The book, "Lost Spacecraft, The search for Liberty Bell 7" and most other Apogee Books Space series come with a bonus Windows CDROM featuring related official drawings, illustrations, documents and still images.
