Rocketry Activity Photos

Once I established the stability of the booster section, I added on a payload section containing an Adept barometric altimeter (ALTS2) and back up controller (DDCS2) for a two-stage recovery system. In this configuration, the Proteus II (as it was now called), used a 12" Spectra chute for a drogue and a 36" PML parachute for the main. I elected not to paint the design for the time being to save weight. The identification markings are colored mylar self-adhesive film. In addition, it so much work doing a decent paint job on these things that I will probably never paint them until the design has proven itself to be stable and reliable.
